When is the next Apple event? If you’re waiting for Apple’s next Big Thing to launch, there’s always a question – and while rightly so, there’s no confirmed future Apple event right now (as Apple just had its big ‘Far Out’ event in September), we are able to predict when the next one will likely will be, based on Apple’s history and its rumored plans.
We expect Apple’s next event to be in October 2022, when we’ll likely see the launch of the new iPads and Macs, and perhaps the long-awaited HomePod 2.
The most recent event was Apple’s September 7, 2022 event where Apple introduced the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone 14 Pro Max to replace the current flagship phone lines, as well as the AirPods Pro 2 as new , high-end in-ear headphones.
Also presented are three new Apple Watch options: Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2, and the brand new and very impressive Apple Watch Ultra. It was an absolutely crowded event, and yet it only included a tiny fraction of Apple’s overall roster, so there’s a lot more to come.
When is the next Apple event?
- Apple’s next event is likely to take place in October 2022.
- Apple has held the October event in 7 of the last 10 years
Based on Apple’s history, we expect the next Apple event to be in October 2022. The company has a long history of organizing October events, even if it is also in September – over the past 10 years (2012-2021). ), seven of them hosted the October event.
September’s Apple events are usually when they announce a new iPhone and then completely dominate the time, meaning they just can’t squeeze in too many products. So the October event gives other key products some time in the spotlight, with plenty of time before the Christmas shopping spree begins.
What about other future events? Here are other predictions for future Apple events:
- Apple event November 2022: possible but unlikely – Apple held three events at the end of the year, but only at the peak of the pandemic.
- Apple Spring 2023 Event: it’s likely – Apple loves the March / April events, often with new Macs and other small / medium sized products. AirTags appeared, for example, at a spring party.
- Apple WWDC event June 2023: Apple always holds its big software event in June, during which it announced the next versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and more. Sometimes it also announces new hardware – especially new platforms, such as the rumored Apple VR goggles.
- Apple Event September 2023: Apple has been organizing September every year for the past decade, and we doubt that will change next year. Expect an iPhone 15 of course.
What will be announced at the next Apple event?
- Probably the new entry-level iPad
- HomePod 2 is displayed with a tip
- More Macs with M2
Of course we’re deep in the forecasting area here, but it’s all based on strong leaks or highly educated guesswork.
It’s very similar to the new iPad 2022 replacing the current cheaper entry-level iPad and is said to have an updated design with flat edges to match all the other iPads on offer. Speaking of other iPads, the iPad Pro (2022) is also a strong contender for an appearance, powered by the new Apple M2 chip – although it’s not a slam dunk as the M2 chip had some reported heat issues which could mean it’s not perfect in iPad Pro and it’s not that the iPad Pro M1 is a hump.
And while we’re on the M2, the Mac Mini (2022) with the M2 seems extremely plausible, hopefully with a chic new redesign. There are also reports of the upcoming new MacBook Pro, but there are conflicting reports as to whether the super-powerful new chips are really ready for them, so it again seems less certain.
There are also rumors that the HomePod 2 is also ready to launch later this year, bringing more sound than the HomePod mini, but hopefully for a less steep price than the original HomePod. There may be an Apple TV 4K (2022) as well, but it’s very unclear what Apple would add to the existing model (rumors speak of a faster chip, but again it’s unclear why), so it’s another in “maybe”.
What happened at the recent Apple event?
- iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus: new size for regular iPhone
- iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max: no more notches!
- AirPods Pro 2: same look, completely different inside
- Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE 2: delicate updates
- Apple Watch Ultra: monstrous smartwatch for hardcore outdoor adventure
Apple’s last event was big! Well if you like iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watche. But who is not !? You’ve read this far in an article on future Apple events, so we’re assuming you’re into it all.
iPhone
The iPhone 14 was announced in the same 6.1-inch size as before, but now with the option of a larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus too. It looks a lot like the iPhone 13, in that it uses the same Apple A15 processor, but you have improved front and rear cameras, longer battery life, and satellite communication so you can always able to make an emergency call. The iPhone 14 Pro a little more is happening in the upgrade section. Once again, however, you have two sizes: the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. They both get the newest Apple A16 processor, the fastest ever, satellite connectivity, the brightest screen with a cool new Dynamic Island camera cutout, and a state-of-the-art 48MP rear camera. Here’s our iPhone 14 Pro hands-on review and our iPhone 14 Pro Max hands-on review.
AirPods Pro 2
New AirPods Pro 2nd generation They look almost exactly the same as the original AirPods Pro, but inside they all change. The new custom speaker and amplifier are connected to an improved H2 processor and wireless chip, with state-of-the-art Bluetooth 5.3 support. Apple says this means it can now block twice as much noise in noise canceling mode, while the new Adaptive Transparency mode makes it much smarter when you want to let in a conversation but not loud street noise or other inconveniences. And there’s a longer battery life (6 hours in the buds, 30 in the case) and finally you can change the volume on them! Here’s our Apple AirPods Pro 2 hands-on review and where to pre-order AirPods Pro 2.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch Series 8 is a subtle upgrade from the previous model, adding more accurate motion detection (including car accident detection), a temperature sensor and some bright new colors. The size, shape and battery life remain unchanged. Here’s our Apple Watch Series 8 hands-on review.
The Apple Watch SE 2nd generation it’s also a modest upgrade, adding a 20% faster processor and the same advanced motion detection as the Watch Series 8, but still lacking on-screen or EKG / pulse oxygen sensors. It did have a drop in prices, however, so it’s a more tempting entry into the Apple Watch world than ever. Here’s our hands-on Apple Watch SE 2 review.
Finally, we got something new. The Apple Watch Ultra is a brand new Apple Watch model designed for truly hardcore terrain. Offers twice the battery life of the Series 8 (36 hours in normal mode, up to 60 hours in the new low-power mode), is so rugged and waterproof it can be used as a dive computer, the screen is much brighter than any other watch The Apple Watch has custom super secure strap options for a variety of sports purposes, a lightweight yet durable titanium case, and a new action button you can customize to instantly trigger any EXTREME activity you want to use it for. It even has some unique digital watch faces, just for the tricky types. Here’s our Apple Watch Ultra hands-on review.
